Life Teen For the Year

BOUT LIFE TEEN …

Beginning on November 1, 1992, SJN has used the Life Teen model of Youth Ministry.  Centered around the Eucharist - the source and summit of our lives - Life Teen Mass is celebrated at 5 p.m. on Sundays, from September - May.  All are welcome at LT Mass, a vibrant and engaging celebration.  Teens may sit with their families or in the reserved teen sections.  Music ministry is provided by a dedicated and very talented contemporary Christian band. Teens serve in the various liturgical ministries.

Following Mass, teens are served a light meal in the Gathering Room, provided by parents and other parishioners.  Life Nights follow the meal and are the opportunity for teens to go deeper in their faith and discuss how the teachings of Jesus apply to their lives.  The focus of Life Nights is to integrate our faith with our life experiences.  Life Nights include catechetical, social, and issue-related topics.  Each Life Night is different and engaging for teens.  Teens grow as a faith community through sharing with each other what it means to be a young Catholic in today’s world.  Through a 4-year curriculum, which follows the U.S. Bishops’ guidelines, Life Teen provides a sound religious education to our teens, on a high school level. 

Trained adult “Core Members” lead the teens closer to Christ as they share their faith with teens and serve as small group leaders.

Weekend retreats are offered in November and March, and various service opportunities and additional faith-based activities and conferences are offered throughout the year.

All HIGH SCHOOL TEENSare welcome at SJN LT and may join anytime throughout the year by simply showing up at a Life Night.
