SUMMARY:Father Greg Summer Book Study - Wednesday
DESCRIPTION:Henry Wiggen\, hero of The Southpaw and the best-known fictional baseball player in America\, is back again\, throwing a baseball “with his arm and his brain and his memory and his bluff for the sake of his pocket and his family.” More than a novel about baseball\, Bang the Drum Slowly is about the friendship and the lives of a group of men as they each learn that a teammate is dying of cancer. \nBang the Drum Slowly was chosen as one of the top one hundred sports books of all time by Sports Illustrated and appears on numerous other lists of best baseball fiction. In the introduction to this new Bison Books edition Mark Harris discusses the making of the classic 1973 film starring Robert DeNiro\, based on his screen adaptation of the book. Also available in Bison Books editions are The Southpaw\, It Looked Like For Ever. \n\nPurchase the Book!

SUMMARY:Parish Enthronement
DESCRIPTION:A parish enthronement is a devotion of a parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The purpose is to honor Jesus as King\, linking both the home and the church. After the enthronement of the parish\, we are to go home and enthrone our homes\, as well!  \n\n\n\nOn Sunday\, June 14\, Saint John Neumann will participate in a parish enthronement to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. \nUltimately\, the enthronement is a devotion to Jesus as King. By honoring Him\, we aim to link our parish and homes. \nStarting this weekend\, Mother’s Day weekend\, we will begin praying a specific prayer pertaining to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Prayer cards will be passed out before/after each of the Masses. \nPlease attend Mass this weekend and grab a prayer card to pray with your household\, and then after the enthronement on June 14\, you will receive a kit to enthrone your own home. \nThis process is a very holy commitment to the grace and love of Christ\, noting the Sacred Heart.

SUMMARY:Vacation Bible School (VBS)

They will participate in the same Games\, Crafts\, Music\, and Snacks as the older grades\, but will be welcomed into our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Atrium for faith formation instead of the regular VBS classes. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a hands-on faith formation experience like none other\, and we know your children will love entering the Atrium room for some very special prayer work. Preschool ages are 3-5\, not yet entering Kindergarten (Kindergarteners join regular VBS!). Must be potty-trained\, or parents must be on site. \nFor 5th & 6th Graders: VBS with a Twist\nWe always want to offer content that engages our youth at their level\, so our older children in this transitional stage between elementary and middle grades will experience an amped up version of VBS made just for them! They will have more in-depth Bible study during their faith lessons\, a service project or two (including helping some of our younger VBSers one-on-one with their crafts!)\, opportunity for deeper prayer\, plus fun team building and leadership activities – all fitting neatly within the VBS framework. \nFees \n$60 for one child | $110 for two children | $165 for three children | $220 for four Children\n(All payments are final.
